If you are making the invitations yourself there are lots of hints & tips on the blog

I have made these cupcakes to show off the laser cut wrappers I also have to sell

This is my first go at covering a cupcake in fondant & it was made possible by the

 wonderful workshop by Carina`s cupcakes

It was ` The pink and lemon polka dot and bow guide`- I used to get the domed shape to the cakes

The daisy flowers were made using a silicone mould and we so easy to make

which also matches the lace theme

Here is a close up of one of the cupcakes in the laser cut wrapper along with the

laser cut invitation

 Having a lace theme along with the delicate laser cut invitations

& just picking up the green in the flowers helps give a soft feel throughout

But keeping the invitation white or creme means you don`t have to give away the

 colour scheme of the wedding.

These artificial flowers are great for a winter wedding

Here is a close up of the SugarVeil® lace & daisy flowers

Having the SugarVeil® cut in different ways means each cupcake is individual

& the daisy`s can be made well in advance & stored in an airtight container

A 2 tier or how ever many tiers of cake can be made and various

cupcakes can be displayed on the cake table

Well finally after things have settled down in our household

So I had a play with my SugarVeil® mat

I have no cake making skills at all – well have baked a few cupcakes etc but Mum kindly

iced a dummy cake for me so I had the 2 tier base to start with

~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I wanted to show how anyone could decorate their cake with little skill or if you are a baker / cake maker

the artificial flowers could be sugar paste ones or even fresh flowers.

Nowadays supermarkets sell wedding cakes so the idea was to take 2 sheets of the SugarVeil®   ( 4 panels )

& play and this is what I came up with.

This flowers could easily be a fresh flowers or a sugar crafted flower – I love the softness of this flower

& the delicate colours too – perfect for a winter wedding

2 embellishments colour to tone in with the project & to cover the stain ribbon bow

The edge of the SugarVeil®  lace creates it`s own border with sits so well around the cake

A silver pearl ediable spray has been misted over the cake & lace to give a lovely shimmer

A string of pearls have been added for quickness but icing pearls could be piped too.

Here shows the panel of SugarVeil® has just been pleated and laid on the top-tier of the cake

A small pleat of a section of SugarVeil®  gives added dimension for the flowers to sit on

The SugarVeil® lays so well over the curve of the cake – pinching the lace to take up the excess lace and it gives added interest too

So a very quick cake made using 2 sheets of SugarVeil®

I wanted to share some so the STUNNING lace backing papers that are on the

If Flowers Could Talk – Cd

I would buy get a cd just for one backing that I adore and this is no exception

Here shows the 2 lace backing papers with the Tapestry Applique Card in the middle  

I have made up a quick card to show how easy it is to make your own Invitations.

The A4 card is scored and folded in half & a piece of lace taped around the edge of the card

and a lace insert added

with wedding details inside. The lace has a diamond buckle added for that wow factor

& the invitation can be added into a pearl envelope for a wonderful design

 as Erin is at a Thinking Day meeting with the Brownies

 and Kris is fishing

so I thought i`d have a play with the website

 I built it a few months back

to my site and having never done anything like this before I have just had a play

 and added 3 cupcake wrappers to test the water

 Here the cupcakes are just standard cakes with piped buttercream

the laser cut cupcake cases really lift the cakes.

Wedding cakes can really blow a set budget and these would

 look wonderful on a cake stand – stands can be bought cheaply or even hired

So well worth looking into

Well it`s trendy to have a sweet buffet or candy jars at a weeding now

& that can mean a lot of expense

So I thought it would be fun to share the idea of looking

around for items for the wedding table

 these LOVE pots were £2 at a supermarket

& can look striking with a few roses placed in with some Hebe poked in at random 

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The white theme means you can have white & cream sweets and the

coconut marshmallows are not expense and add to the table.

just add other sweets to add theme of the table

If you don`t want the expense of the buffet style table why not make up some

sweet bags instead of having sugared almonds

or if you do have a sweets in jars – stamp the corners of some white paper bags to

bring in the colour scheme of the wedding

and if it`s a winter wedding then a

Hot Chocolate gift would be great ( image to follow )
